Couple exchange wedding vows at Lampasas church

Drew and Jill Martin
Jill Hodges and Drew Martin, both of Lampasas, were united in marriage in a July 28, 2007, ceremony at First Baptist Church in Lampasas.

Church Pastor Rick Willis officiated the double-ring afternoon ceremony.

The bride is the daughter of James "Butch" and Debra Hodges of Lampasas. She is the granddaughter of Frances Langley of Lampasas, and Gwen Hodges of Lake Charles, La.

The groom's parents are Stan and Norine Martin.

The couple exchanged vows under an arch with red and white material covered in roses.

Pew markers featured white hydrangeas with red ribbon bows.

Wedding music included "One," performed by D'Anne Willis of Lampasas; "Canon in D" for bridesmaids; and "O Perfect Love," for grandparents and mothers of the couple.

Pianist was Phyllis Carroll of Lampasas.

The bride was given in marriage by her father.

She chose a white satin, A-line gown with a split-front overskirt and embroidery. It had a chapellength train.

Her elbow-length veil had clear beads around the trim.

To complement her gown, the bride carried a bouquet of red roses mixed with white stephanotis.

Matron of honor was Louise Williams, the groom's sister, of Brazoria. She wore a red halter-top gown with a beaded bodice.

Bridesmaids were Misty Gandy of Lampasas, and Kristen Rhodes of Waco. Their strapless satin ballgowns featured side ruching and a beaded bodice.

Junior bridesmaid was Brittany Copeland of Brady, the groom's niece.

Attendants carried bouquets of white hydrangea, white roses and red sweetheart roses.

Flower girl was the bride's cousin, Hailey Parnell of Haslet.

She wore a red dress with a velvet bodice. It had white tulle with rose petals floating around the trim.

Best man was Jim Williams of Brazoria, the groom's brother-inlaw.

Groomsmen were Junior Spivey and Chris Barnes, both of Lampasas.

Junior groomsman was Marco Chadwick of Haslet, the bride's cousin.

Ring bearer was Henry Williams of Brazoria, nephew of the groom.

Ushers were David Hodges, the bride's brother, of Lampasas, and Ronnie Copeland of Brady, brother-in-law of the groom.

Following the ceremony, a reception was given by the bride's parents.

Houseparty members were Ann Langley, Nicole Warner, Jennifer Lucas and Emily Hodges.

Tables were covered with red and white tablecloths, and vases of red roses served as centerpieces.

Guests enjoyed selections of fruits and vegetables, meats and cheeses, chips and salsa and nuts and mints.

The bride's four-tiered white cake had white buttercream icing and fresh, red roses on top of each tier.

The groom's German chocolate sheet cake was topped with a comical bride and groom figurine.

After a wedding trip to Fredericksburg, the couple is at home in Kempner.

The bride is a Class of 2000 Lampasas High School graduate. She earned a bachelor of business administration degree from the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor.

She is a housing manager in the barracks office at the Department of the Army Civilian at Fort Hood.

The groom, also a Lampasas High School Class of 2000 graduate, is a carpenter for Langley Homes, Inc.

The parents of the groom hosted a rehearsal dinner prior to the wedding at First Baptist Church Fellowship Hall.

The groom's mother prepared a barbecue supper.
