Mr. Porter
Mr. Porter was born March 24, 1930, in Lometa, the son of Sam and Opal Hightower Porter. He graduated from Lometa High School and West Texas State University in Canyon with an accounting degree. He had lived in Amarillo, Abilene and Houston. Mr. Porter worked for the Internal Revenue Service, retiring with more than 30 years of service. He was an outdoorsman and enjoyed working with cattle and goats on his Lometa ranch. Survivors include his wife of 27 years, Elaine, of Evant; four children and their families, Kris Porter, and wife, Teresa, of Shallowater, Kreg Porter, of Gatesville, Ken Porter, and wife, Jennifer, of San Angelo, and Polly Porter, of Waco; two sisters, Gloria Smith and Sammie Leggett, both of Lometa; and seven grandchildren, Kristopher, Travis, Gail, Kevin, Katie, Jakob and Rachel. |
