LHS XC teams 4th at Waco Midway

Ryan Tedford
The Lampasas High School boys' and girls' cross country teams each finished fourth at the Waco Midway Meet on Friday.

Ryan Tedford's sixth-place finish paced the boys, and Courtney Carpenter's 16th-place finish propelled the girls' squad.

"Comparing paces to last week's runs (at the Temple Open), only a few did better this week, but the weather was much hotter and muggier, and our weight workout on Thursday had me expecting slower times," LHS head coach Trent Lancaster said.

Both teams finished behind Austin Westlake, Midway and Round Rock McNeil.

For the LHS varsity boys, Brandon Willie and David Bloomfield placed 18th and 19th, respectively. Jonathan Lohmann finished 23rd, and Andrew Griffin was 41st out of 88 total runners.

For the LHS varsity girls, Molly Rogers finished 21st, Jontell Ritz 29th, Bailey Chambers 31st and Bethany Brice 37th out of 91 competitors.

For the LHS junior varsity boys, Todd Young finished 13th, Lane Christianson 23rd, Ryan Wiebe 37th, Michael Fisher 47th, Ryan Delacruz 60th, Rico Delacruz 73rd and Corey Pillow 74th out of 105 total runners.

Courtney Carpenter
For the LHS junior varsity girls, Kristen Martinez took 17th, Tiffany Fagg finished 20th, and Susie Goodpaster was 41st out of 65 entrants.

Both teams are scheduled to com- pete Saturday at Liberty Hill.
