Church to observe anniversary
      Lake Victor Baptist Church will celebrate 100 years with music, fellowship, cake and punch on Sept. 23 at 3 p.m. at the church. The first building was constructed in September 1907. Services were held once a month, and eventually increased to twice each month.

      Billy Fralin and Kim Shuford of Lampasas are the parents of a daughter, Paige Elaine Fralin, born July 19, 2007, at 6:30 p.m. at Scott & White Memorial Hospital in Temple. At birth, Paige weighed 8 pounds, 14 ounces and was 19 inches in length.

Boat show draws wide audiences
      Sculptor T.J. Mabrey has been entertaining visitors from as far away as Germany at her Boat Show exhibition on view at 405 S. Pecan on downtown Courtyard Square. There, more than 20 boats carved from marble and metal are on display until Sept. 22.
