GOLF TOURNAMENTS

The Kids Classic Golf Tournament is scheduled for Saturday at Hancock Park Golf Course.

The scramble tournament will begin at 1 p.m. with a shotgun start. Check-in for all teams is noon. The price is $65 per player or $260 per team, which includes green fees, beverages, prizes, team awards and a fish fry. For more information, call 525-9173 or 556-8271.

The Ninth Annual Republican Golf Tournament fund-raiser is scheduled for Oct. 6 at Hancock Park Golf Course.

The scramble format tournament will start with a continental breakfast at 7 a.m., with teeoff scheduled for 8 a.m. A hotdog lunch is scheduled for noon at the Pavilion, and a holein one on a designated hole is worth $10,000. The price is $50 per player. For more information, call 556-6624.

The Exchange Club of Copperas Cove is holding its Ninth Annual Golf Tournament Oct. 13 at Copperas Cove Golf Course.

Funds raised will go to youth scholarships, child abuse prevention programs, senior organizations and other community service programs.

The tournament is scheduled to begin at 8:30 a.m. with a shotgun start. The price per team is $220. For more information, call 254-542-7798.

COACHES CLINICS

The Boys and Girls Club has partnered with Kids Sports Network and the Lampasas ISD to provide mandatory training classes for volunteer coaches.

Each course consists of two parts: The first addresses general topics coaches typically deal with during a season; and the second addresses the fundamentals of each specific sport.

Upon completion of the fourhour course and certification by KSN, coaches will receive general liability and accident-insurance coverage.

Football coaches training is Saturday from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Soccer coaches training is Saturday from 12:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. Cheerleaders coaches training is Sept. 15 from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

YOUTH BASKETBALL

Sign-up for PIPs youth basketball leagues starts Saturday.

Registration is from 9 a.m. to noon at the Hanna Springs Gymnasium Saturday and Sept. 15. The price is $65 per child. The price includes a practice uniform, game uniform and a ball. For more information, call coach Helgesson at 556-4804.
