Mesquite Fest set Oct. 12-14 at Fredericksburg

The 2007 Texas Mesquite Association Art Festival returns to Fredericksburg on Oct. 12-14, featuring juried artists from around Texas who will gather in Fredericksburg's Markplatz for the annual event.

Organizers expect more than 10,000 visitors during the weekend.

Visitors can shop from collections of sculpted wood from mesquite craftsmen, including furniture, craft and gift items, lamps, Christmas tree ornaments, gun stocks, vases and a variety of other items.

The festival is free and open to the public. Hours are Friday, noon to 6 p.m.; Saturday, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.; and Sunday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Concessions will be sold. Parking is free.
