Telethon raises record funds

Jerry Lewis made good on his annual promise to raise at least "one more dollar" for the fight against muscular dystrophy during the Muscular Dystrophy Association's 42nd Jerry Lewis Labor Day Telethon.

A record of more than $63.7 million in contributions and pledges was raised, which will fund research, services and information for people with any of the neuromuscular diseases under MDA's umbrella.

The event originated live from Las Vegas and was broadcast nationwide and in Canada on 190 stations.
