Wedding vows exchanged at Austin chapel
      Kacie Killough and Bryan Whisenant, both of San Marcos, exchanged wedding vows in an April 27, 2007, wedding at the Chapel at Dulcinea in Austin. Michael Jackson, uncle of the groom, officiated the double-ring evening ceremony.

Rutland daughter
      Jeff and Stephanie Rutland of Lampasas are the parents of a daughter, Paige Ivy, born Aug. 17, 2007, at 5:18 p.m. at Temple. Upon arrival, Paige weighed 7 pounds, 4 ounces and was 19 1/2 inches in length. Grandparents are Jim and Darlene Rutland, and Rick and Carol Brown, all of Lampasas.

Driver's ed set to begin
      Lampasas High School is offering driver's education with classroom instruction to begin Sept. 5. Classes will be held Monday through Thursday, 3:45-5:45 p.m., and are limited to the first 32 students to pay. Registration forms are available at the high school office.

      Lampasas Public Library recently purchased a new microfilm machine, thanks to contributions from the Lampasas Library Foundation, Friends of the Library and Lampasas County Historical Commission. A Lone Star Library Grant also was awarded.

      Sept. 16 is the date for a fund-raising event to benefit Lampasan Manuel Torrez Jr., a 49-year-old Lampasas High School graduate who was diagnosed this year with non-alcoholic end-stage liver disease.
