Mrs. Martin Betty Lou Martin of Lampasas died Aug. 26, 2007, at her daughter's residence in Lampasas. She was 79. Funeral services were Aug. 29 at First United Methodist Church in Lampasas. Burial was at Lometa City Cemetery. Mrs. Martin was born Aug. 29, 1927, in Tom Green County, the daughter of Cornelius and Laura Lee Candler Westbrook. She graduated from Bronte High School in 1944 and Abilene Business College in 1946. She married J.D. Martin on May 19, 1949, in El Paso. Mrs. Martin retired as an accountant for GTE after 30 years of service. She and her husband lived the majority of their lives in San Angelo from 1949-87, when Mr. Martin retired and they moved to Lampasas. Mrs. Martin was an active member of First United Methodist Church in Lampasas. Survivors include her husband of Lampasas; two daughters, Vivian Prine, and husband, Eddie, and Leanora Morrison, all of Lampasas; one sister, Minnie Hutchinson, and husband, Bill, of Orlando, Fla.; grandchildren, Andy Prine, and wife, Rebecca, Mary M. Langford, and husband, Michael, Kyle Morrison, and Kraig Morrison and wife, Cayla; great-grandchildren, Mason Prine. Madison Prine and Nathan Norwood. The family requested memorials be made to First United Methodist Church in Lampasas; VistaCare Hospice, 2626 B S. 37th St., Temple, TX 76504; or American Diabetes Association. |
