City Secretary Christina Marez to retire this month

Third-generation Lampasan Christina Marez will retire Dec. 26 as city secretary and says she is excited to spend more time with her family and with God. “There are two things money can’t buy: time and love,” she said, adding that she is excited to share more of both with her family and friends.

Museum gingerbread contest winners

Teagan Tinsley won first place in the children’s division of the Lampasas County Museum’s “Rockin’ Around the Christmas Tree” gingerbread-house decorating contest.   Katelyn Martin won first place in the young-adult division of the gingerbread-house decorating contest.

L-M Garden Club cancels Christmas party

Officers of the L-M Garden and Civic Club have decided to cancel the annual Christmas party, originally planned for Dec. 21, in light of the rise in coronavirus cases. A group text message was sent to members to notify them of the decision.

Browning club plans potluck brunch

The Browning Community Garden Club will hold its annual holiday potluck brunch Dec. 15 at 10 a.m. at the Clear Creek Baptist Church fellowship hall in Kempner. The church is at 3350 FM 2657. The garden club serves members in the Kempner, Copperas Cove and Lampasas area.

Several local 4-H awards were presented recently. The Rookie Award went to Vivien Martin. Katelyn Martin received the Silver Star Award. Lewis and Ronda Bridges received the Friend of 4-H Award for their service to Lampasas 4-H.
