The Lampasas Fire Department is continuing its annual toy drive — a tradition that dates back more than 130 years. Records show the city’s volunteer department started handing out Christmas gifts in 1886, when it distributed apples and oranges – prized treats at the time.
This year, donations of new toys will be accepted at the Lampasas Fire Station through Dec. 14 at 5 p.m....
