The city of Kempner is hosting the Christmas in the Park event Friday night.
The event begins at 5 p.m. and will include vendors for holiday shopping, seasonal food and beverages, festive music and a Christmas movie showing.
Santa and Mrs. Claus will make an appearance at 6:15 p.m., and the tree lighting ceremony will take place at 6:30 p.m. A Christmas movie in the park will follow immediately after that.
Attendees are encouraged to bring an ornament to decorate the community tree.
The festivities will take place in Sylvia Tucker Memorial Park on U.S. Highway 190.
