Eleven patrols, from nine Scout troops, scrambled from the starting line to kick off the Eighth Annual San Saba Mountain Man Camporee last Saturday.
During the timed race, patrols — made up of all the Texas Trails Council — had to complete eight challenges.
“The event is timed, as is each event,” said race co-creator Lance Anderson.
