Two Lampasas women fatally shot, suspect ends own life

Authorities confirmed Friday a barricaded suspect was responsible for a Thursday shooting that left two Lampasas women dead. The perpetrator of the double homicide had no prior connection with his victims, authorities said.

Multi-county vehicle pursuit ends in Lampasas

In an incident that authorities said might otherwise have ended as a “suicide by cop,” police convinced an armed and barricaded driver to exit his vehicle after a pursuit that began in Mason County ended in Lampasas on Sunday morning.

A total of 4,890 Lampasans made it to the polls in this election, 30.6% of the 15,969 registered voters. In the Republican Party primary, 4,438 votes were cast, and 452 in the Democrat Party primary.

Officers apprehend suspect at Cooper Springs Nature Park

Lampasas area law enforcement apprehended a criminal suspect this morning who allegedly fled on foot into Cooper Spring Nature Park. Lampasas Police Department officials confirmed that a search was conducted inside Cooper Springs Nature Park at 10:11 a.m. after a suspect fled into the area on foot.

Lampasas County Sheriff seeks more detention officers

During his Lampasas County Commissioners Court update Monday about the new county law enforcement center, Sheriff Jess Ramos said his department needs more manpower. Ramos said with more space at the new jail, more detention officers are needed.
