New family affair within Lampasas coaching staff

The coaches for the soccer program in Lampasas are now part of the same family.Kim Burnside is the new girls’ head soccer coach and head cross country coach. She also is the wife of current head boys’ soccer coach Samuel Burnside, who also is an assistant football coach.

The last two youth sports camps of the summer are taking place this week.Football camp for incoming seventh-, eighthand ninth-grade athletes is running from Monday through Wednesday, and a volleyball camp for incoming freshmen is Tuesday and Wednesday.The football camp will be from 8-10 a.m.

Former Badger returns to coach at the middle school

A former four-year varsity football player has returned to Lampasas to start coaching at the middle school level.Case Brister was a high-level linebacker and running back for the Badgers during his time on the football field.

Lampasas golf course back open

Final week of SWAT workouts underway

Corbin Kepler runs through a SWAT workout this summer. The Badgers are going through their final week of summer conditioning before school resumes and football, volleyball, cross country season and more officially get underway.

Between 400 and 500 runners participate in Toughest 10K

The Toughest 10K in Texas once again drew a crowd of 400 to 500 competitors last Saturday morning in front of Lampasas Middle School.Runners participating in the 10K took off from the starting line first, followed by the5K participants, and then the 1-mile runners started last.
