City pools to open next month for summer season

May is the month when the city’s pools will open officially for the summer.Dates and hours for the pools are as follows.Hancock Springs Free-Flow Pool will open May 22 and stay available for swimmers through Sept. 7. Pool hours will be noon to 5 p.m. on Thursdays and Fridays, 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Lampasas athletes offered physicals on campus

Three days next month, physicals will be offered at Lampasas school campuses for athletes who need a physical prior to next school year.On May 5-6, physicals will be conducted at Lampasas Middle School from 8-10:45 a.m. each day at the Bozarth-Fowler Gym.

Softball team loses close series to China Spring to end season

The bi-district round of the softball playoffs took place last Thursday and Friday, when the Lady Badgers took on China Spring in a home-andhome series.The Lampasas girls played very well for large portions of both games, but ultimately they lost the playoff series and finished their season.

Boys and girls junior high golf teams win recent tournament

Last week, the Lampasas Middle School golf team won on both the boys’ and girls’ side at a tournament in Llano.The LMS boys won the tournament with a total score of 164 strokes.Layton Eckermann was the first-place individual finisher after shooting 36 on the course.

Lady Badger golfers win regional tournament, on to state

The regional golf tournament took place last week, and both the Lampasas varsity golf teams got the opportunity to compete after the boys won the district title and the girls finished second.
