Badgers compete in first scrimmage of the season

The Lampasas boys’ soccer team took on Chaparral Thursday afternoon in their first scrimmage of the season. The varsity fell 3-1, while the junior varsity team won 3-1. “We got a lot of good looks and teamwork out of it in a couple cold, physical matches,” head coach Samuel Burnside said.

Girls’ soccer team earns a clean sheet in scrimmage win over Jarrell

The Lady Badgers played in another scrimmage leading up to the start of the regular season. The girls won 2-0 Friday against the Jarrell Lady Cougars. The two goals were scored by junior Bella Lindsey, who has worked her way back from injury in time for the soccer season.

Badgers pick up close win over Waco Robinson

Lampasas hosted the Waco Robinson Rockets Tuesday night with a chance to get the Badgers’ basketball season record back above .500. They were able to do just that with a 66-61 win.

Middle school teams go 8-0 against Lago Vista

The boys’ and girls’ middle school basketball teams went 8-0 in their contests last week against the Lago Vista Vikings. For the girls, the Lampasas Middle School seventh-grade “B” team won 16-8.

Badger football players receive honors at annual banquet

The Badger football team gave out team awards and inducted two legendary Badgers into the Lampasas Football Hall of Fame on Monday night. Curtis Thrift and Pepper Procter, two players who were on the 1986 state semi-finalist team for the Badgers, were selected for the honor.

Girls’ soccer plays in first scrimmage of the season

On Tuesday night, the Lady Badger soccer team started its season with a scrimmage against the Shoemaker Lady Grey Wolves. After the first 40 minutes, the Lady Badgers were leading 2-1 on goals from sophomore Arianna Bermudez and freshman Liliana Fryer.

Boys’ and girls’ wrestling teams continue to find success

The Lampasas boys’ varsity team went to Leander Rouse for a tri competition last week. The Badgers beat Round Rock Westwood and lost to Leander Rouse in duals. “It was great to come away with a win and see a few teams we will see later on this season,” wrestling head coach Donovan Kleckner said.
