Girls’ soccer unable to get over the hump in close loss to Gatesville

The Lady Badgers once again came up just short in a tough loss to the Gatesville Lady Hornets at home. They fell 2-0 but had plenty of chances. The ball just would not get over the line.

Badgers fall to Gatesville in district soccer match

The Lampasas soccer team hosted the Gatesville Hornets last Friday in a match the Badgers desperately wanted to win after letting the first game against the Hornets slip through their fingers in the final few minutes. The game started tight, and the teams were even at 0-0.

Softball goes 3-1 in second tournament of the season

The Lady Badger softball team traveled to Portland last week for its second tournament of the season and took three of four wins. Lampasas started the tournament with three consecutive wins, beating Richardson 6-4, Dallas Bishop Lynch 12-4 and Latexo 5-4.

Baseball team competes at Salado tournament

Last Thursday through Saturday, the Badger baseball team took on some stiff competition in a tournament in Salado. The team finished 0-4 on the weekend, but there were certainly bright spots. “Despite the outcomes, we saw some positive things this weekend,” head coach Chance Evans said.

Boys’ tennis player finishes first in Georgetown tournament

Luke Rogers claimed first place at the 25team Georgetown tennis tournament last week. “His last two matches were tough, but he held it together to pull them out,” Lampasas head coach Kenneth Peiser said. “He was serving and volleying more than ever and doing great at the net.

Badgers fall in physical bi-district playoff round

The high school basketball playoffs are in essence a tough tournament where every team participating is willing to give everything they have just to play one more game. That was true of Lampasas and Waco La Vega on Tuesday when they met at Belton High School for the bi-district round.
