Badger finishes sixth in state long jump competition

Late Thursday morning in Austin, Lampasas High School junior Asa White began competing in the long jump at the Conference 4A state track meet at the Mike A. Myers Track and Soccer Stadium.

ATLAS 4000 bike ride for cancer to take place this weekend

The annual ATLAS 4000 bicycle ride across the country begins this weekend. The unofficial send-off for the trek to Alaska will be Friday, starting at 8 a.m. on The University of Texas campus. On Saturday, the ride begins.

Badger baseball players recognized at banquet

The Badger baseball team held its end-of-season banquet last Wednesday, and players received their all-district honors as well as team awards. In total, five team awards given. Aden Rascoe received both the Batting Average Award and the MVP Award. Jonas Andersen was given the Best Pitcher Award.

Youth tennis camp to be offered this summer

Lampasas head tennis coach Kenneth Peiser will offer a four-day youth tennis camp at the high school courts. The camp will be available for all students interested in tennis, from incoming first-graders to those going into their freshman year of high school. Camp dates are May 22-25. From 8-9 a.m.

Badgers go 2-0 for second straight week in spring league

The Badger basketball team played Gatesville and Hamilton in two spring league games on Monday. Both games were competitive, with good basketball skills displayed. First, Lampasas played the Gatesville Hornets for the first time this spring, and the Badgers won 53-45.

Summer youth basketball camp scheduled for later this month

The Badger basketball program will host a youth camp this month at the high school. The camp will be May 2526 from 9-11 a.m. each day. The camp is for students who are incoming firstgraders through sixthgraders. Registration costs $35. Anyone interested can visit the link at https://www.lisdtx.

Badgers and Lady Badgers to play in state golf tournament

The Conference 4A Texas state golf tournaments will be played over two days next week and two days the week after, all in Kingsland. The Lady Badgers will tee it up Monday and Tuesday after dominating the district tournament and finishing second at the regional competition.

Middle school soccer teams pick up a couple of wins

The Lampasas Middle School girls’ soccer team played three games in 12 days, and they ended up 1-2 over that stretch. First, LMS played Taylor and dominated the possession game but gave up goals on breakaways. The girls ended up losing 4-1, according to head coach Nathaniel Brayton.

Badgers’ summer football camp, SWAT coming soon

The Badgers will host a youth football camp May 15-17. Each day will run from 4-6 p.m. Students in first grade through fifth grade are eligible to register. Cost of the football camp is $35. Campers need a T-shirt, shorts, cleats or tennis shoes and sunscreen to participate.
