Two 4-0 teams to meet in battle of the unbeatens

The No. 5-ranked Conference 4A Division I team in the state will play host to the Lampasas Badgers tonight, as the Wimberley Texans look to maintain their perfect record on the journey to reach another state championship game. Wimberley and Lampasas both sit at 4-0 on the season.

Boys’ cross country team comes home with silver medal

The Lampasas cross country teams traveled to Salado last week, and the boys’ team came home with its second runner-up finish of the season, competing against schools ranging from 1A to 4A divisions. Kent Ashley and Brayden Phillips both medaled with their top 15 finishes.

The Lampasas Middle School football teams hosted Lago Vista on Tuesday, and the seventh-grade “A” team came out victorious, 20-6. Day Silva started the scoring with a 30-yard touchdown catch thrown by Ross Kothmann. The Badger defense gave up a touchdown early but played lights out after that.

Hornets fall in high-scoring affair with Rochelle

Lometa dropped its second contest in a row on Friday, losing to the Rochelle Hornets by a score of 70-59. Turnovers and poor execution on special teams doomed Lometa, as the Hornets missed six extra points. Rochelle returned multiple kickoffs for touchdowns in the game as well.

Lampasas tennis comes up short in district match at Stephenville

The Lampasas tennis team traveled to its first district match, playing in Stephenville last week under cloudy, humid conditions. “We started out in pretty good shape, taking four of the seven doubles matches,” Lampasas head coach Kenneth Peiser said.

Badgers run from Pflugerville after tough road win

The Badgers had to get past nearly every obstacle possible to continue their undefeated season in 2023. Lampasas went on the road Thursday night to Pflugerville Connally to play the Badgers’ first away game, then they had to endure a weather delay that lasted around an hour and a half.

Tennis plays final matches before district action starts

The Lampasas tennis team played host to Belton and Leander last week, and they split the two matches, beating Belton and losing to Leander. Against Belton, the Badgers won six of the seven doubles matches.
