The physicality and aggression of the Marble Falls Mustangs was exactly what the Badgers expected when Friday night’s game tipped off. Although they were on the back foot early, they responded well and came away with a 67-61 win. Peyton Sisson was the Badgers’ best player on the court Friday night.

The Lady Badger soccer team had played in six matches as of Saturday afternoon, and they have yet to pick up a win. The girls had their first game of the season -- a match against Killeen at home on Jan. 2 -- rained out.

The Lady Badger basketball team came up short against the Marble Falls Lady Mustangs, losing 38-20. The girls fall to 1-2 in district play. The Lady Badgers struggled with turnovers early, and they missed shots that kept them off the scoreboard.

Boys’ soccer finishes with win, loss, draw in recent tournament play

The second tournament of the season is a great indicator for soccer teams about where they stand early in the year. In this case, the Badgers are feeling pretty good about themselves after finishing 1-1-1 over the three games they played. They started the tournament with a 3-0 loss to Benbrook.

Badgers come up short in soccer home opener

On a cold, windy Tuesday evening, the Badger soccer team hosted the Harker Heights Knights in their home-opener. After a tough 80 minutes, the Badgers came up just short, losing 1-0. They conceded a goal early in the first half but kept Harker Heights off the board the rest of the way.

Lady Badgers fall to Burnet, move to 1-1 in district

The Lady Badger basketball team traveled for the first district road game of the season when they went to Burnet Tuesday night. Lampasas lost 50-38 to the No. 23-ranked Lady Bulldogs. The Lady Badgers competed well with Burnet outside of the second quarter when they were outscored 16-2.
