Bella Lindsey has been a captain of the Lampasas High School cheer squad for the past couple of years. After graduating she will continue to cheer, but now at the University of Texas at San Antonio.

Badger basketball starts new summer league in Llano

The Lampasas basketball team played in a new summer league in Llano last Thursday with games against Marble Falls Faith Academy and Cherokee.Lampasas started with a win over Faith Academy, 52-37.Games were played in two halves with each half using a 16-minute running clock.

The 73rd Annual A.C. January Memorial Golf Tournament will be held Saturday, Sunday and Monday at Hancock Park Golf Course.There have certainly been some obstacles leading up to this weekend, with significant rainfall and storms that have hit the county in recent weeks.

Youth basketball camp brings in plethora of young Badgers

On Monday and Tuesday, Lampasas basketball coaches and players hosted a camp for first- through sixth-grade students at the high school gym.The youth participants worked on the basics of basketball from shooting and dribbling to passing and defense.

Tennis camp brings in youth of all ages to learn the sport

The annual summer tennis camp ran from Monday through Wednesday this week, and those who showed up worked a lot on hitting the ball consistently.Practice drills focused on every kind of shot: forehand, backhand, volley, overhead, serves and more.

Three youth summer camps running this week

Summer athletic camps got started on Monday, with both the youth tennis camp and a youth basketball camp underway. Then later this week on Thursday and Friday, there will be a softball and baseball camp as well.The tennis camp will run through Wednesday. Each day the camp will run from 8-11:30 a.m.

Middle school girls’ soccer team ends season with winning record

The girls’ middle school soccer team ended the season last week on a 2-0 loss to Marble Falls, but that was their only loss over the five games this year.Lampasas finished 3-1-1 over the course of the season, which included a draw against Jarrell and a couple of wins over Burnet.

On Tuesday night, the Lampasas tennis team gathered for its annual banquet with approximately 80 guests in attendance.“We handed out certificates to everyone, watched a video of the year, handed out the Battlin’ Badger award to Allison Valdez and Brock Messinger,” head coach Kenneth Peiser said.
