Tonight, the Bobcats and Badgers will meet for the first time, as Lampasas and Chaparral High School play football against each other.Both teams sit at 2-0 through the first couple of weeks of the season, but one of them will have a loss after this week.

Tennis team loses tight match to open district play

District tennis began Tuesday, when the Badgers hosted a talented Stephenville team.Matches went back and forth, and eight tiebreakers were played over the course of the night.Brock Messinger/Jacob Pronovost came off first with a win in doubles for Lampasas.

Lometa experienced an explosion of offense Thursday night, defeating the Blum Bobcats 72-34 and moving to 2-0 on the season.The Hornets relied on a stingy defense that continued to force takeaways and a secondhalf offensive burst led by their running back and quarterback.

Late last week the Lady Badger volleyball team played in a tournament in Kerrville, and then on Tuesday they hit the road for a match against former district opponent Lago Vista.

Last Friday, the Lampasas cross country teams hit the road for their third meet in Temple.The boys’ team placed fifth out of 27 teams, with 171 total runners participating.John Keyes took 10th and medaled with a time of17:28.5. Kent Ashley placed15th and medaled at 17:50.4.
