Lometa had a tough task Friday night, when the Hornets welcomed the third-ranked May Tigers to Hornet Field for Senior Night. Despite being significant underdogs, Lometa avoided the mercy rule until the final minute of the game, losing 66-18.
The Hornets fell to 6-3 overall and 0-2 in district play. The loss has eliminated them from playoff contention.
