Girls' golf team easily defends district championship

The Lady Badgers won the district golf tournament by more than 140 strokes, and LeeAnn Parker earned her second individual district title on Monday. Lampasas shot 662 in the 36-hole event, held April 5 at Glen Rose and April 12 at Gatesville.

Rockets win shootout over Badgers in bi-district soccer

Lampasas scored the first two goals of Friday's bi-district soccer match against Robinson. But the Rockets came back to tie the game late in regulation, and they outshot the Badgers by one in a penalty-kick shootout at the end of overtime.

Badgers rally with seven runs in last inning at Glen Rose

After coming within one out of a loss, Lampasas scored seven unanswered runs in the seventh inning to beat Glen Rose 12-7 in district baseball on Tuesday. Ace Whitehead batted 3-4 with a triple, a walk, three runs scored and a 3-RBI double in the seventh inning.

Reid, Long advance past powerlifting regionals

Westen Reid advanced to state as the regional powerlifting champion of the 198 class with a three-lift total of 1,515. John Long also advanced after placing third in the 308 class, by lifting the state-qualifying total. His total was 1,600 pounds. Saturday's regional meet was held in Smithville.

Lady Badgers hit three homers in win over Gateway

Lampasas beat Georgetown Gateway Prep 5-3 on the road Friday night with three home runs. Hannah Perry hit two solo shots, and Alycia Cantu knocked one out of the park for two runs.  Kayli Syx batted 1-2.  Caitlyn Sanguinet threw 7 strikeouts.

Ayers repeats regional powerlifting title

Alyssa Ayers defended her regional powerlifting championship on Friday and qualified for the state powerlifting meet for the fourth straight year. Competing at Dublin, Ayers had a three-lift total of 850 to win the 123-weight class by 65 pounds.

Badgers win basketball bi-district title, 77-68 over Graham

Lampasas (19-4) advanced to the area basketball playoffs after trailing Graham by six points in the fourth quarter of Tuesday's bi-district playoff game in Brownwood. The Badgers will face Argyle, the state's No. 3 team, on Thursday in Italy, Texas at 8 p.m. at the Gladiator Dome.

Lady Badgers playoff-bound, recovering from 0-5 district start

The Lady Badgers' 51-36 win over Brownwood on Monday clinched their fourth straight trip to the basketball playoffs, a task that might have looked impossible to some fans just two weeks ago. The Lady Badgers started district play 0-5 but have won three of their last four games.

Five Badger seniors signed letters of intent on Wednesday to play football at the collegiate level. Guard John Long committed to Rice University, defensive end Owen Seaver to Angelo State University, receiver Mike Murray Jr.
