Mr. Bettis

Mr. Willie Gene Bettis, 92, of Lampasas County died at his residence on Feb. 28, 2022. He was born on Aug. 29, 1929, in Cushing, Texas to Marcus Eugene Bettis and Dovie King Bettis. Willie grew up in Cushing. In 1946, he moved to Jal, in southeast New Mexico.

Mr. Henderson

Wendell Ray Henderson, 82, of Lampasas died at his residence on Feb. 26, 2022. Wendell was born Dec. 17, 1939, in Olustee, Oklahoma to Larry and Thelma Lee (Parker) Bettencourt. He graduated from Altus High School in 1958. Wendell married Brenda Bennett on July 5, 1980. He served in the U.S.

Mr. Miller

Jim Hale Miller Jr., 70, died on Feb. 19, 2022, in Lampasas. Memorial services will be held at Church of the Hills in Lometa on March 19 at 2 p.m. Jim was born on Oct. 13, 1951, in Buda to Jim and Annie Miller.

Mr. Treadwell

Larry Duane Treadwell, 64, a resident of Lampasas for the past 62 years, died at his residence on Feb. 22, 2022. He was born in Kerrville on May 11, 1957, to William Arthur Treadwell and Jo Ann Ray. Larry was happy painting, writing and playing music. He was a retired sheetmetal mechanic.

Ms. Wallace

Evelyne Wallace of Lampasas died at her residence on Feb. 22, 2022. She had just celebrated her 99th birthday the day before. She was born to R.J. and Nellie Carr on Feb. 21, 1923, in Liberal, Kansas. Her youth was spent mainly in Missouri. Evelyne settled in Texas in 1984.

Mr. Smith

Roy Lee Smith, 92, of Lampasas died on Feb. 20, 2022. Services will be held at First Street Church of Christ on Feb. 26 at 2 p.m., with visitation an hour prior. Interment will follow at Hurst Ranch Cemetery in Star. Sneed-Carnley Funeral Chapel in Lampasas has charge of arrangements.

Mr. Beckwith

Stuart Marshall Beckwith, 62, of Burnet died Feb. 18, 2022. He was born on March 28, 1959, to Merwin and Jean (Hardgrove) Beckwith in Fort Worth. Stuart grew up in Burleson and graduated from Burleson High School in 1977. He played college football at the University of Texas at Arlington.

Mr. Romero

Mark Anthony Romero, 34, of Lometa died at his residence on Feb. 21, 2022. Mark was born on March 2, 1987, in Goldthwaite to Amado Romero and Mary Gloria Cortez. He had lived all his life in Lometa. He was a landscaper, which also was his hobby. He loved to garden, grow flowers and plants.

Ms. Lee

Nancy Lee, 77, of Lampasas died on Feb. 15, 2022. Visitation was held at Sneed-Carnley Funeral Chapel on Feb. 21, with a rosary following. Funeral Mass will be at St. Mary Catholic Church on Feb. 22 at 10 a.m., with interment to follow at Oak Hill Cemetery.

Mrs. Edwards

Velma Edwards, 75, a longtime resident of Lampasas, died at her residence on Feb. 19, 2022. She was born in Lampasas on Oct. 31, 1946, to Elton Machen and Lottie Wheelus Machen. She and Robert Edwards were married on April 1, 1992, in Lampasas at their home.
