Mr. Carden

Joe Bob Carden, 81, died on May 5, 2025, at Clear Sky Rehabilitation Hospital in Harker Heights.Funeral services will be held at Sneed-Carnley Funeral Chapel in Lampasas at 11 a.m. May 14, with visitation an hour prior. Burial with full military honors will follow at Long Cove Cemetery in Lometa.

Jack Darrell Linder died in his home on May 11, 2025, surrounded by his family. He was 81.Jack was born on Aug, 14, 1943, in Kenedy to Royce and Maxine Linder.He was married to the love of his life, Linda, for 61 years.

Elizabeth Ann “Beth” Rutland, 44, died on May 4, 2025, in Aledo after a threeyear battle with cancer.Beth was born July 7, 1980, in Dallas to Allen and Linda Dillon. The family later moved to Richardson, where Beth graduated from Richardson Berkner High School.

Mr. McCarthy

John “Jack” Wiley McCarthy Jr., 75, died on Easter Sunday, April 20, 2025 in Austin.He was born on Aug. 26, 1949 in San Francisco, California to John and Estelle McCarthy.Jack, as he was known, was a light in the lives of all who knew him.

Mr. Moreland

Edgar Wayne “Tobe” Moreland of Lampasas died on April 19, 2025, in Round Rock, surrounded by his family.Tobe was born on July 29, 1940, in Johnson City to Edgar W. Moreland and Ada Elizabeth (Summy) Moreland.

Mr. Carson

Lee Carson, 60, died on April 17, 2025, doing what he loved, which was ranching.Visitation will be held at Sneed-Carnley Funeral Chapel in Lampasas on April 25 from 6-8 p.m.Services will be at Sneed-Carnley Funeral Chapel on April 26 at 10 a.m. Burial will follow at Prairie View Cemetery in Briggs.

Julieann “Julie” Mazak-Blomberg, 46, died on April 15, 2025, in Temple, surrounded by her family.Sneed-Carnley Funeral Chapel in Lampasas has charge of arrangements.Born on April 20, 1978 in Camden, New Jersey, Julie was raised in Shamokin, Pennsylvania.

Steven Bryce Newkirk died on April 11, 2025, at his home.Visitation will be held at Sneed-Carnley Funeral Chapel in Lampasas on April 17 from 5-7 p.m.Services will be held at San Saba’s First Baptist Church on April 18 at 2 p.m.

Marion Alexander Snell, 84, died at his home on Sulphur Creek in Lampasas on April 10, 2025 surrounded by his family.He was born on May 26, 1940 in San Angelo to Casbeer Snell and Margaret Josephine Alexander Snell.
