David Burkett died May 20, 2026, at Lampasas Nursing & Rehabilitation. He was 64.
David’s body is to be cremated. A memorial gathering will be planned to honor him at a later date.
David was born Dec. 9, 1961, to Louis Burkett Sr. and Carol Burkett.
For a while, he worked with his son doing carpentry.
He enjoyed going to the park and liked to fish.
He married his wife, Pam, on April 4, 2026, in Copperas Cove.
David was preceded in death by his parents; and by three brothers, Louis Burkett Jr., Daniel W. Burkett and William Burkett.
Survivors include his wife, Pam Burkett and her children Michael Allen, Cynthia Hurt and Matthew Hurt; and his sisters Debbie Dunn, Belinda Dunn and Mary Dunn.
