Kempner City Council makes election results official

At a special called meeting Tuesday night, the Kempner City Council moved to certify results of the special election held May 6.
The vote count of 18 “For” and 16 “Against” Proposition One means the special sales tax levied within the city will rise from 0.25% to 0.5%. The additional revenue from the sales tax measure will be dedicated to road maintenance.
