Late Thursday morning in Austin, Lampasas High School junior Asa White began competing in the long jump at the Conference 4A state track meet at the Mike A. Myers Track and Soccer Stadium.
By the time all the jumps were finished, White ended up in sixth place in the state with a best leap of 22 feet 2.75 inches.
