A six-acre grass fire during high winds on Wednesday required the assistance of the Texas Forestry Service before it could be extinguished. The fire was just outside Lampasas County on U.S. Highway 281 South.
Lampasas Fire Department Cpt. Tyler Gillis said thick vegetation made it difficult to manage the flames.
