U.S. 190 closed Tuesday after discovery of explosive device

    Kempner Police Department closed U.S. Highway 190 in Kempner after a citizen discovered an explosive device in a box he had purchased at a garage sale.

    Authorities said the explosive and resulting investigation have been turned over to the U.S. Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives.
