With no job waiting for him and $72 in his pocket, Nix native Randolph Scott left home with his heart set on the western wilderness. Little did he know that choice would lead to an opportunity to serve the nation as a CIA smokejumper.
Randolph Scott was raised in Nix and graduated in the Lampasas High School Class of 1956.
