Several columns of smoke rise from a fire near a residential area in this photo submitted by Jennifer Cummings of Kempner. When she contacted the Kempner Volunteeer Fire Department Tuesday at 12:45 p.m., personnel already were en route to deal with the blaze. No other details on the incident were available at press time.
