The County Fair, held in conjunction with the Spring Ho Festival, is set for July 8-10 at the First Presbyterian Church Fellowship Hall, 401 S. Chestnut St.
To spice things up this year, the ’36 Club – which hosts the County Fair – is planning a Saucy Salsa Contest.
Salsa must be fresh, not canned. Entries should be in disposable containers with a secure lid. At least 2 cups (1 pint) of salsa is needed for an entry.
Exhibitors must include a printed copy of the salsa recipe on an 8.5x11-inch plain sheet of paper, with their name and address on it also.
A People’s Choice Award will be given. Entries for the County Fair – including the salsa contest – are due July 8 and should be brought to the fellowship hall from 4-7 p.m. Judging will take place July 9.
To share a salsa recipe at the County Fair and compete for bragging rights as the sauciest salsa champion, check out the registration information on The ’36 Club’s Facebook page and website.
