Poppy Day will be recognized May 22, when residents are invited to wear a red poppy to honor those who lost their lives fighting for our freedom.
Each year on the last Friday of May, the American Legion Auxiliary units throughout the U.S provide red poppies to wear to honor the fallen soldiers who have given their lives during battle.This ritual began at the end of World War I.
