Mr. Kinsey

Larry A. Kinsey died April 27, 2026.

Memorial services will be held at Sneed-Carnley Funeral Chapel in Lampasas on May 16 at 3:30 p.m. Burial will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery in Lampasas.

Larry was born on Nov. 20, 1940, to Elmo Kinsey and Virgil Shroyer.

He grew up “on the move,” living in New Mexico and Nevada before he and his mother made Texas their permanent home. In high school, he would meet the love of his life, Crystal, who would later become his wife.

Larry and Crystal married the summer after high school on Aug. 26, 1960, and shared 65½ years raising their children and doing life together.

Larry had many electrical jobs throughout the years, moving around with each company. Larry worked for Wolfenson Electric for 25 years. After that, he decided to work for himself. He built a carwash, which was very successful.

After many years, he sold that car wash, moved to Lampasas and built another one. Years later, he built some storage units in Kempner. After years of ownership, Larry made the decision to finally retire.

Larry was preceded in death by his wife, Crystal; his parents, Elmo Kinsey and Virgil Goodman; and his great-grandson, Grayson Kinsey.

Survivors include his daughter, Deborah (George) Perry of Round Top; his son, Bo (Sandra) Kinsey of Buda; his daughter, Heather (Joseph) Finney of Lampasas; sisters Peggy Kinsey (Cliff Hutton) of Shawnee, Colorado, and Ginger (Jerry) Masoner of Sandia Park, New Mexico; grandchildren Lindsay, Cameron, Cade, Tyler, McKinna, Brady, Kassidy and Kylie; great-grandchildren Hayes, Finn, Aurelia, Aurora, Cynch, Ellisyn, Ford, Blanton and Axl; and many nieces, nephews and in-laws.
