Gov. Greg Abbott ordered state agencies and public universities on Tuesday to freeze H-1B visa applications and to shift their focus to Texas employees.
Under Abbott’s directive, state agencies and public universities should not initiate or file new H-1B visa petitions until the end of next year’s legislative session, unless written permission from the Texas Workforce Commission is provided.
