Here is a look at how local school districts and organizations are recognizing Veterans Day in Lampasas County.
Lampasas Middle School will hold a Veterans Day breakfast on Monday, with doors opening at 8 a.m. and breakfast served at 8: 30 a.m.
A ceremony will follow in the Bozarth-Fowler Gym with guests seated at 9:15 a.m, and the program beginning at 9:30 a.m. It is the 23rd consecutive year LMS has held the event.
LOMETA ISD
The district will hold a Veterans Day ceremony at 9:30 a.m. on Tuesday in the Lometa School Gym.
Keynote speaker will be local veteran Clay Harrington. Lometa elementary students will perform, and local veterans will be recognized.
AMERICAN LEGION
Lampasas American Legion Post 277 will host its Veterans Day ceremony at the Lampasas County Courthouse at 11 a.m. on Tuesday.
A free barbecue lunch at the Lampasas VFW Post 8539 for veterans and their families will follow.
CITY OF KEMPNER
Kempner will hold its annual Veterans Day ceremony at the Sylvia Tucker Memorial Park at 11 a.m. on Tuesday.
Posting of the colors, singing of the national anthem, and a keynote speaker will be part of the event.
