An adult male Hanna Springs Pool visitor experienced “distress” in the water on Saturday afternoon before he was ultimately declared deceased, according to a city of Lampasas press release.
The city has not released the name or age of the individual.
A city press release says at 3:07 p.m., a male pool visitor was pulled out if the water by lifeguard personnel, who immediately began lifesaving measures. Shortly after, the Lampasas Police Department and Lampasas Fire Department arrived on the scene.
“Lampasas PD and fire personnel arrived on scene soon after and took over lifesaving measures,” the press release said.
The male was transferred to AdventHealth Rollins Brook Hospital by Hamilton EMS, where he was pronounced deceased.
The incident is currently under investigation, with the city promising more information in the near future.
