Although cloudy weather conditions kept many travelers away, hundreds of visitors still made their way to Lampasas to observe the eclipse from various vantage points, including city parks. The skies cleared in time to reward their efforts to view the solar phenomenon. FILE PHOTO
NASA scientists and other researchers set up specialized equipment at the 580 Sports Complex to collect data on the sun and its corona that is available only during an eclipse.
