Local entities receive September sales tax rebates
DISPATCH RECORD GRAPHIC Through nine months of the year, most area entities show their sales tax revenues are growing. The only cities to see a dip in their September returns were Burnet and Lometa.
September sales tax rebates to the Texas cities, counties and special purpose districts that assess a local levy showed an average increase of 6% compared to the same month last year. State Comptroller Glenn Hegar reported that total allocations across the state topped $1.1 billion this period.
In the Central Texas area, September payments generally reflected better results than those of August.
