It’s rare to find a set of twins, much less four in one grade level – which is the case for Kline Whitis Elementary School.
This school year, the elementary campus has four sets of twins in second grade, one set in fifth grade and another pair in pre-kindergarten. While some twins are inseparable, others have different hobbies they enjoy.
MESSINGER TWINS
Jemmah Messinger and Jackson Messinger are fifth-grade students. Jemmah’s favorite color is pink; Jackson prefers blue and purple, but he admits it “kind of changes.”
It appears Jemmah is her brother’s keeper, or in this case, her twin’s keeper.
“I find his glasses every morning because he can’t see well,” Jemmah said.
Jackson denied the claim. “Sometimes I just put it on the side of my bed, Jemmah,” her twin said.
Jackson’s hobbies include playing video games like Fortnite, Pokémon and Legend of Zelda – which is currently out of commission. Jemmah enjoys spending time outdoors catching frogs or at the pool. She also enjoys playing video games like Minecraft, Roblox and Watchdogs.
When it comes to favorite topics in school, the pair also have differences. Jackson enjoys learning about military history, while Jemmah prefers reading.
DAVIS TWINS
Raegan Davis and Ashton Davis are one of four sets of twins in second grade at Kline Whitis Elementary. They have different favorite colors, with Raegan preferring hot pink and Ashton favoring purple. Like Jemmah Messinger, Raegan also serves as her brother’s keeper.
“I clean up his whole room for him,” she said.
Ashton admitted his sister’s room is too sparkly to ever need any help cleaning.
Raegan enjoys playing with her LOL dolls, with Ashton occasionally joining in. Ashton prefers spending time tussling with his 14-year-old brother but also likes playing with LEGOs. Also, the twins enjoy swimming and getting together with their neighbors for playdates after school.
When it comes to school, Ashton says his favorite subject is “chasing girls” and maybe learning some history, whereas his sister enjoys reading to grow her vocabulary.
CANTU TWINS
Nickali Cantu and Josiah Cantu share many of the same interests. When it comes to playing outside, these twins enjoy riding their bikes or playing soccer, baseball and football.
When it is time for fun after school, the pair enjoy playing Roblox on their tablets. The brothers’ favorite subjects are reading and English.
Nonetheless, Nickali and Josiah have some differences. For starters, Nickali prefers the color silver, while Josiah favors gold. Also, the pair have different tastes when it comes to eating, “He doesn’t like mashed potatoes, but I like it,” Josiah said. “He likes macaroni, but I don’t.”
The twins said they look forward to the years together as they continue to grow and mature.
BRANUM TWINS
Autumn Branum and Kase Branum have a playful relationship, with Autumn embracing herself as the “meaner” twin.
“She says she’s a wolf; I’m a cheetah,” Kase said, as his sister performed a wolf gesture his way.
Kase said he enjoys playing football with his sister, a claim denied by Autumn – who prefers cheerleading. Perhaps these Class of 2035 twins will one day be performing under the bright lights at Badger Field.
After school, the siblings enjoy playing video games like Minecraft together. Autumn, however, said she knows the ins and outs of the game better than her brother.
The pair do have their fair share of differences. Kase enjoys snacking on carrots, while Autumn prefers beef, according to her brother. At recess, Kase prefers football; Autumn prefers freeze tag. The two don’t interact much on the school playground.
Despite their differences, both enjoy math as their favorite school subject.
KENNINGTON TWINS
Sara Kennington and Sadie Kennington are so close as identical twin sisters, it is nearly impossible to tell them apart.
While Sara prefers pink and Sadie orange, “her second-favorite color is orange, and my second favorite color is pink,” Sadie said.
After school, the pair play Minecraft and Roblox together. Sara and Sadie also enjoy time away from the digital sphere in the form of arts and crafts projects.
At school, the twins enjoy playing a “zombie” game, as well as hide-and-goseek and tag. The girls also share a love for science but enjoy other subjects. Sadie prefers fine arts, while Sara said she prefers math.
Sara and Sadie already have their future mapped out. Sadie wants to become a fine arts teacher and Sara a computer lab teacher. Both are eyeing the Lampasas school district, specifically Kline Whitis Elementary, as their future home in the workforce.
