The Texas Department of Transportation has a contractor that will begin the annual seal-coat application work in Lampasas County.
Seal coat is a thin protective layer of asphalt and rock that helps extend the life of the roadway.
The maintenance project was scheduled to begin Monday at FM 3046, from the Coryell County line to FM 2657. Work then was expected to move to the following locations through Wednesday:
• FM 580: from 1.2 miles east of FM 1715 to FM 2313.
• Loop 257: from U.S. 281 East to 0.09 miles north of U.S. 190.
• U.S. 183: from County Road 2001 to U.S. 281 North.
• FM 581: from FM 580 to U.S. 183.
• FM 580 (San Saba Co.): from U.S. 190 to the Lampasas County line.
Work schedule and location is subject to change and is weather permitting.
Motorists should expect possible delays. Drivers should use caution when traveling through the work zone, obey warning and speed limit signs, avoid distractions, and watch for crews and equipment.
