L-M Garden Club holds September meeting

On Sept. 15, the L-M Garden and Civic Club held its first meeting of the 20252026 club year. Several new members were introduced, and they were welcomed to the club.Cat Cotman, with the assistance of Sam Patterson and Teresa Stewart, gave a presentation on medicinal plants grown in Texas.

Butterfly tagging set for Oct. 5

The Lampasas 4-H Wildlife Project will hold a meeting to tag butterflies. The event will be Oct. 5 at 2 p.m. at Cooper Spring Nature Park.Anyone may participate but must be enrolled in Lampasas 4-H first. Sign up at tx.4HOnline.com.

Community Bridge welcomes new players

Community Bridge welcomed three new players and the return of another on Sept. 8.At the end of the afternoon, Tom Griess took home first place, Barbara Smith was second, and Tim Cockburn and Linda Williams tied for third.

Pocket Constitutions donated

Tex Hall and Kim Garner delivered Pocket Constitutions to school campuses on Constitution Day, Sept. 17. The Lampasas Republican Club donated the booklets to all eighth-graders and seniors in Lometa and Lampasas schools.

Lampasas County 27th District Court convened Sept. 12 with Judge Debbie Garrett presiding over the day’s hearings. A number of hearings were reset for new dates.Moved to Oct.

District clerk indicted over financial matters

Two indictments for misapplication of fiduciary property -- third-degree felonies -- were served Friday afternoon on Lampasas County District Clerk Edith Harrison, local law enforcement officials said.
