Congressional candidates in town

Texas First Conservative Alliance hosted a candidate event Tuesday at Lampasas Community Church. A sizable audience was in attendance to hear presentations from some of those running for the District 31 seat in the U.S. House of Representatives.

School board considers bond proposition groupings

The Lampasas ISD Board of Trustees is still working on how to align propositions for a May 2026 bond election.During Monday’s school board meeting, trustees received a short presentation from bond counsel representatives Matt Hines and Bart Fowler of McCall, Parkhurst & Horton.

Lampasas County 27th District Court convened last week with Judge Debbie Garrett presiding over the criminal proceedings.Defendant Jason Gene Mack of Lampasas entered a plea on a charge of possession of a controlled substance less than 1 gram.

Lampasas County grand jury met Wednesday to convene the new January term.Investigator Edward Hood of the Lampasas County Sheriff’s Department presented information that resulted in the indictment of Britten Marguerite Will on a charge of cruelty to nonlivestock animals on Sept. 22.Sgt.

Tree trimming begins in town

The city of Lampasas has contracted with McCoy Tree Surgery to conduct tree trimming around city electric lines. The work is scheduled from January through March, with a focus on the northwest section of town.

Students take home numerous show honors

The 2026 Lampasas County Youth Livestock Show wrapped up successfully on Jan. 10, with strong participation across all divisions and impressive performances from the youth exhibitors.In the cattle division, Selie Hodge exhibited the Grand Champion steer, also earning the Lee Carson Award.
