City records good jump in sales tax receipts

After having posted declining sales tax revenue over the first quarter of 2024, the city of Lampasas saw its sales tax rebate rise 19% in April. That marks the highest one-month percentage gain since January 2022.April payments are based on sales made in February by local businesses.

Early voting to commence in Lampasas, Lometa elections

The city of Lometa, Lometa ISD Board of Trustees and Lampasas ISD Board of Trustees will hold an election of representatives on May 4. Early voting will begin Monday.Lampasas ISD Board of Trustees Places 1, 2 and 3 are up for election. Candidates for Place 1 are Mickey Edwards and Melinda Picott.

Public ceremony set to usher in new fire engine

The Lampasas Fire Department will host an official Push-In Ceremony for its newest fire engine Saturday at 10 a.m. at the fire station, 1107 E. Fourth St. The ceremony will commission the new truck and officially place it into service.

Two women injured in Tuesday morning wreck

Two women were hospitalized after a two-vehicle wreck on U.S. Highway 281 Tuesday morning.Lampasas Police Department authorities said the collision, which was reported at 7:41 a.m., occurred at the intersection of the highway and the Lampasas High School driveway.

Little Badger Theatre camp set for May

The Little Badger Theatre Camp is seeking student participants for this year’s annual production.The Lampasas Theatre Company and Little Badger Theatre Camp will present “James and the Giant Peach” in late May.Camp rehearsals will take place May 20-24 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
