The city of Lometa ended its search for a new police chief Monday evening at City Hall. Meeting in regular session, the council voted unanimously to hire Ronald Strain to take the helm of the city’s law enforcement department.

School board OKs purchase of digital radios

The Lampasas Independent School District Board of Trustees on Monday approved the Lampasas Central Appraisal District’s 2025 budget.

TV Show ‘American Pickers’ eyes Lampasas County residents

The History Channel’s “American Pickers” TV show has announced it is returning to Texas this October to film new episodes.“American Pickers” is a documentary series with more than 380 episodes across 25 seasons that explores the world of antique “picking.

Pearl church plans annual fish fry

Pearl Church of Christ, 6790 FM 183 in Pearl, will hold a special worship service Sept. 1 with guest speaker Dr. Charles Patterson.The service will be followed by the annual Atchley Fish Fry and Auction. The fundraiser provides money for scholarships and youth camp.
