TxDOT set to replace Third Street Bridge

The Texas Department of Transportation was scheduled to start its replacement of the Third Street Bridge at Burleson Creek on Monday.TxDOT said Lampasas residents should expect the project to last for six months.Acme Bridge will be responsible for the project.

Soccer team sees success at first tournament

The Lampasas boys’ soccer team played its first regular-season matches of the 2025 season in the Gatesville tournament last week.In their first match, the Badgers picked up a 2-0 win over Robinson.“First match always gives you a starting point,” head coach Samuel Burnside said after the performance.

Tree trimming

The city of Lampasas has contracted with McCoy Tree Surgery to trim around electric lines. The northeast section of town is planned for this work.Homeowners will be notified via door tags when trees are to be trimmed on their property.Those with questions should call City Hall at 512-556-8315.

Lampasas County’s new sheriff, David Parker, is just days into his first term in office but already is planning ahead for the future in the Lampasas County Sheriff’s Office.Parker was sworn in on New Year’s Day. He believes the transition to his leadership has been smooth.
