Casino Night planned for Feb. 15

LISD reviews annual academic performance report

Lampasas Independent School District Assistant Superintendent Dana Holcomb provided school board members with the annual Texas Academic Performance Report (TAPR) in Monday’s regular meeting.

TAX-AIDE ASSISTANCEAARP Foundation Tax-Aide will conduct free federal tax preparation services for the 2024 tax year. Assistance is available on Tuesdays from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. from now through April 15 at 302 E. Third St. in Lampasas (the Jack Calvert Municipal Building).

Burning conducted after generous rains across county

Landowners took advantage of the temporary suspension of the county’s burn ban and were able to reduce debris piles and burn stacks after heavy rains soaked the area last week. The prohibition on outdoor burning was reinstated Monday evening.

Garrett makes justice her priority behind the bench

After serving as a social worker, defense attorney and prosecutor, newly elected 27th District Court Judge Debbie Garrett is settling into her role behind the bench.Garrett assumed office in January, taking over for Judge John Gauntt who had reached mandatory retirement age.
